Background
As of July 2025, association's constitution said "[T]he West Virginia School Board Association is dedicated to effecting and preserving the principles of effective school board governance through lay control of public education and to improving the quality and effectiveness of boardsmanship."[1]
On February 19, 2022, delegates to the association's annual business meeting voted to end their participation in the National School Boards Association as of June 30, 2022.[2]
