Text of measure
Language on the ballot:
“ | Shall the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution be increased on all taxable real and tangible personal property in Whitefish Township, Chippewa County, in an amount not to exceed .5 mill ($.50 on each $1,000.00 of taxable value) for a period of four (4) years, 2013 to 2016 inclusive, of which .4478 mill is a renewal of the millage rate that expires in 2012 and .0522 mill is new additional millage to restore the full amount of the previously authorized millage, for the purpose of operating and equipping the Whitefish Township Community Library and for all other library purposes authorized by law; and shall Whitefish Township levy such millage for said purpose? The estimate of the revenue the Township will collect if the millage is approved and levied by the Township in the 2013 calendar year is approximately $32,800.[1][2] | ” |
