|I went to public schools and earned scholarships to attend college. I came back to Spokane to teach in our local schools and give back to the community that raised me. As a council member, I’ve worked to make local government more responsive and accountable to everyday people—not just the wealthy or well-connected.
In office, I’ve helped pass policies that expand affordable housing, fund public safety, and invest in neighborhood infrastructure. I listen to my constituents, show up for all parts of Spokane, and work to deliver results that improve lives. My vision is simple: a Spokane where every family—regardless of zip code—has the opportunity to live safely, affordably, and with dignity. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished, but there’s more work to do—and I’m ready to keep fighting for Spokane’s future.- Working families are getting priced out of Spokane. I’m fighting to keep Spokane affordable—for renters, first-time homebuyers, and long-time residents—by increasing housing supply and protecting tenants. I’ve supported changes to zoning to build more housing near transit and jobs, helped fund affordable housing projects, reduced transit fares, and worked to reduce utility and permit fees that drive up costs. I’m committed to helping families stay in Spokane—not get pushed out of it.
- Everyone deserves to feel safe—whether they’re walking in their neighborhood, going to work, or calling 911 in an emergency. That’s why I’ve prioritized smart investments in public safety, including funding for firefighters, EMTs, and police, as well as programs to address mental health and addiction. I support both accountability and adequate staffing so our public safety systems are effective, fair, and responsive to community needs. I’ve supported laws to ban open drug use and prioritize addressing our opioid crisis
- Our infrastructure needs to catch up to the needs of a growing city. I’ve secured funding to repair roads, expand sidewalks, and invest in cleaner, greener infrastructure—especially in neglected neighborhoods. I support safer streets for pedestrians, bikes, and drivers alike. I’m focused on long-term solutions that create jobs, reduce emissions, and prepare Spokane for the challenges of climate change. 21st century infrastructure also includes building child care centers, health clinics in our schools, and neighborhood business districts. We need the physical and workforce infrastructure to support a growing economy and region.

|As a teacher, Zack advocated for changes to help students ignored by the public school system. Zack left teaching to study barriers to his students' opportunities at Princeton University working on projects that would give hard working individuals a fair shot: expanding access to higher education, affordable health care, and safe routes to school.
Following his family's tradition, Zack moved back home with new experiences and skills to serve Spokane, volunteering with Spokane Food Fighters since the beginning of the outbreak of the coronavirus.
Zack is running for state representative to fight so all hard working families have a fair shot as we rebuild our community with living-wage jobs and worker protections, a strong education system, and affordable healthcare.
- fighting to make sure everyone has a fair shot
- strong education system and career pathways
- good jobs and worker protections
