Rosemarie Petitti Annunziata was a judge on the Virginia Court of Appeals. She was elected to the court in 1995 and obtained senior status in 2005.[1]
Education
In 1962, Annunziata graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Elmira College with a B.A. She then attended Yale and earned an M.A. in 1967. She earned her J.D. from American University Washington School of law in 1978.[2][3]
Career
Following law school, Annunziata worked as a hearing officer for Special Education appeals with the Commonwealth of Virginia from 1979 to 1986. In 1981, she started with the law firm of Hall, Surovell, Jackson and Colten in Fairfax, Virginia. She stayed with the firm until 1984. Also in 1981, she began working as a commissioner with the Fairfax County Planning Commission. She worked as a commissioner until 1986. From 1984-1986, Annuziata worked as an attorney for Cremins, Snead & Annunziata in Fairfax, Virginia where she was a partner. In 1986, she became of counsel with Dickstein, Shapiro & Morin in Washington D.C. She stayed with the firm until 1989.[3]
In 1989, Annunziata was elected to the 19th Judicial Circuit in Fairfax, County Virginia. In 1995, she was elected to the Court of Appeals of Virginia. She took senior status in 2005.[1]
