There will be a Coaler Springs Park District Reorganization measure on the February 2 ballot in Grundy County for voters in the park district area.
This measure was defeated
- YES 501 (24.01%)
- NO 1,586(75.99%)
[1]
This measure sought to reorganize the park district into a general park district, as provided under the provisions of the park district code.[2] This measure was brought to the ballot by a petition and city officials were unclear what the proposed district would entail. The plans for the park district were not set out in the petition and the question of funding for it was never established as well. City officials were not against the idea of a park district, but without details and further plans they did not come out to support this measure.[3]
