Biography
Dinah Glenda Vargas was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She attended the University of New Mexico for undergraduate study. Vargas' career experience includes working as a photographer.[1]

My name is Dinah Vargas and I'm a daughter of New Mexico. I'm a native New Mexican, and I'm running for New Mexico House of Representatives for District 10 in the spirit of Faith, Family, and Freedom!

I am personally passionate about improving the South Valley for our families; to be the best area in Albuquerque for education, agriculture, and starting a business. I will work to ensure that life is better lived in my district, and focus on 'revitalizing' this area of Albuquerque which has been forgotten, and is rich in cultural history. I'm very pro-life, and I believe in the quality of life from conception to natural death.
I would follow the example set by my grandmother, Louisa Vargas. My grandmother was a dignified and disciplined her whole life. To me, she was, and still is in my heart, The All American Woman. My grandmother worked a full time job and raised seven kids. She was an extremely kind and devout Catholic . She steadfastly served her faith, her family, and her community. For me, in my opinion, she set the example every American woman can appreciate!
There is no one particular book, but several covering subjects from ethics, economics, business, religion, and government. Also, an understanding of what a moral compass is based on- doing actions to achieve the greatest good for the greatest number of people.
An elected official should have knowledge of many subjects, such as government, economics, and psychology. Most important is possessing a strong moral compass, and basing decisions and actions on what is the greatest good for the most people.
I'm a daughter of New Mexico, I understand politics and "business as usual" in New Mexico. I'm the all American woman and I'm in the spirit of faith, family, and freedom. It's always been a dream of mine to serve the people of New Mexico!!
To safeguard the freedom and opportunity available to the people. Our constitution gives us the right to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It does not guarantee success or equality of result. It guarantees us equal opportunity to achieve our own success.
To take charge of our children's education by creating a school district in the South Valley independent from Albuquerque Public Schools.
In 1986 (age11), when attending Alamosa Elementary School, I can very clearly remember when the space shuttle Challenger exploded in space, only 73 seconds into its flight.
My very first job was a summer job, at the age of 16. I was a Recreation Leader at Chapparal Elementary School in Albuquerque, "The Duke City", NM. It was a fun job where I learned about leadership and team building. I also learned to financial responsibility, because the money I earned was needed for my school supplies and clothing the following school year.

The death of my son has been a struggle in my life. I continue to overcome the heartache associated with loosing a child. My trials are daily. However, my faith has calmed my broken heart and I believe the worst is behind me.
Although both chambers represent the people, each house representative has a more intimate relationship with the people in their district. This difference fits me well because my passion is to serve NM District 10 and community, by generating more opportunity and prosperity. While at the same time, limiting the over reach of government. I live in the district and will always have my feet "on the ground" .
While government experience is helpful, it is extremely important to have an understanding of economics and business. One must know where money is created and how business creates money; not Government. Economics is not a Zero-sum game; Business does not exist to support Government. Government exists to support the people, for the people. Wealth is created through productivity. A business creates a product or service that is needed., creating value. That value then translates to money that circulates through. Therefore, wealth is not just redistributed by the government, but created by industry. That gives all the society the opportunity to raise living standards.
The biggest challenge for the State of NM will be to promote and enable business to thrive, so that it can create the jobs and wealth the state so badly needs. We must turn the state into being a net producer of goods and services so that we can create increased wealth for the people of Mew Mexico. The net result will be an increase in the standard of living for all.
The ideal relationship would be a situation where all the branches of government work together for the greatest good for all the people of New Mexico.
Yes, because the NM House of Representatives possesses the unique ability to write into legislation immediate changes that directly improve the quality of life for every resident across New Mexico's lands. It is also capable of bringing fiscal responsibility to the government.

Chairman Steve Pearce of the Republican Party, who has demonstrated principle over power. I have modeled my campaign after his activities, as I am closely aligned with his principles.
At this time, my only interest is to run in the NM House of Representatives for District 10.
When speaking to a lovely woman named Aurora Grossette, she came upon the realization that the Democrat Party no longer fit her values of faith, family, and freedom. With this realization, Aurora then asked to change her party affiliation to Republican. She believes that now, the Republican party is in step with her pro life stance and family values. This was an extremely impactful and memorable event in my campaign thus far!
