V. Michael Whelan was a judge for the Second Circuit Court in Cecil County, Maryland.[1] He served as a county administrative judge from October 2, 2010, until his retirement in January 2016.[2][3][4][5]

Education

Whelan received his undergraduate degree in criminal justice from the University of Maryland College Park in 1969 and his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1976.[3]

Career

Before he became a judge, Whelan served as an assistant state's attorney for both Prince George's and Cecil counties.[3]

2010 election

Whelan was re-elected to the Second Circuit. He won both the Democratic and Republican primaries and was re-elected with 98.88% of the vote in the general election.[6][7][8]
