As head of the department, Schoorl was responsible for carrying out its mission to "improve working conditions for California's wage earners, and to advance opportunities for profitable employment in California."[2]
Biography
When he became acting director of industrial relations, Schoorl had served as undersecretary of the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency.[3]
