Erin C. Lagesen is a judge for Position 12 of the Oregon Court of Appeals. She assumed office on October 17, 2013. Her current term ends on January 4, 2027.
Lagesen is running for re-election for the Position 12 judge of the Oregon Court of Appeals. She is on the ballot in the primary on May 19, 2026.[source]
Lagesen was appointed to the court by Democratic Governor John Kitzhaber on October 17, 2013, to one of three new seats created by the Oregon State Legislature in 2012.[1][2] Lagesen took the bench on November 12, 2013, and was then elected to the court in 2014 for a term that expired on January 3, 2021.[3][4]
Education
Lageson received her undergraduate degree in English and mathematics from Williams College, her master's degree in mathematics from the University of Oregon, and her master's degree in education from Harvard University. She received her J.D. from Willamette University College of Law.[1]
Career
Lageson taught math at Milwaukie High School in Oregon before law school. Her legal career began with a clerkship for Judge Susan Graber of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She then worked as a litigation associate for the law firm of Stoel Rives before joining the Appellate Division of the Oregon Department of Justice in 2004. She was appointed to the Oregon Court of Appeals in 2013.[1]
