A Breen Township Road Levy Renewal measure was on the February 28, 2012 ballot in the township of Breen which is in Dickinson County.

This measure was approved

  • NO 30 (28.57%)[1]

This measure sought to renew the current road levy which is set at a rate of $2.00 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for blacktopping roads in the township.[2]

The question on the ballot:

Shall the limitation of the amount of taxes which may be imposed on taxable property in the Township of Breen, County of Dickinson, State of Michigan, be increased by 2 mills ($2.00 per $1,000) of taxable value for a period of five years, 2014 to 2018, inclusive, to be used by the Breen Township Board, specifically for the purpose of blacktopping Breen Township roads? It is estimated that the 2 mills would raise approximately $35,113.05 when first levied in 2014. This is a renewal.[3]
