There was a Stephenson County Sales Tax Increase measure on the February 2 ballot in Stephenson County.
This measure was defeated
- YES 1,652 (27.15%)
- NO 4,432 (72.85%)

This measure asked voters if they would approve of a raise in the county sales tax by .5 percent, which would have gone towards the public safety.[2]
