We must approach this job in a three-step cycle: Dream, Plan, Act. Dream about the future we want, in detail. Plan a path toward getting there that starts with actionable things we can do today. Act like the whole world depends on our success, or to quote Gretta Thunberg - Act like you would in a crisis.
I love spending time with my fiancée and family. I also love history, reading, studying language, writing music, coaching basketball, dissecting business problems, camping, carpentry, and playing with my dog. If I felt I had a choice, I'd do a lot more of these things. But I feel that our choices are rapidly being stolen by a failed political system. I am convinced that a progressive wave is the best option we have for recovering our dignity and freedom, and I am here to fight for that future.
- Dream big. We must think beyond the election cycle and dream of a future worth fighting for - one where we the people once again control our shared destiny.
- Fix the climate. The time for half-measures is past. We must immediately start building the infrastructure and culture required to build a sustainable and healthy world economy.
- Economic freedom for all. We need medicare for all and a $15/hr minimum wage to ensure everyone has the freedom to live a life of dignity.
But for me, the most exciting thing to think about is not the policies themselves, but how we reach consensus on, refine, and ultimately enact them. Our political process is broken and I believe the most important thing we can do is to think deeply about how the government should work in the 21st century. That's why I am passionate about using technology to revolutionize the way we govern.
