Acevedo was an unsuccessful 2014 candidate for the Bexar County Court at Law No. 6 in Texas.[1]
Biography
Rochelle Acevedo graduated from Antonian College Preparatory High School in 1997. She earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Texas at Austin in 2000 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas Law School in 2003.[2] Acevedo's career experience includes working as a private practice attorney at the Law Offices of Rochelle M. Acevedo.[2][3][4]

Judges of the county courts are elected in partisan elections by the county they serve and serve four-year terms, with vacancies filled by a vote of the county commissioners.[5]
Qualifications
To serve on a county court, a judge must:[5]
- be at least 25 years old;
- be a resident of his or her respective county for at least two years; and
- have practiced law or served as a judge for at least four years preceding the election.

Primary: She ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on March 4, 2014.
General: She was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 48.8 percent of the vote. She competed against Wayne Christian.[1][6][7]
