Campaign themes
2014
Godfrey's campaign website listed his themes for the 2014 race:
| “ | Getting state of the art education and training for our children is essential to make them competitive in the world. Just as important is providing state of the art training for our teachers. Combining this with a locally controlled, stable curriculum, that includes education for life (athletics, arts, etc.), and doesn't change from year to year based on an "expert's" whim will help guarantee a stellar system. This practical educational system in our K through 12 schools, when coupled with the technical and academic college systems in our county, offer us a competitive edge in competing in the world of tomorrow. We will have the tools to help attract businesses and other enterprises to come to our county now and in the future. We will have the capacity for enhancing everyone's quality of life. With a strategic plan to point the way, our success into the future will be ensured.
Now, everything can't be done all at once without a hodgepodge of priorities and wasted effort. Below are the top three things that I believe we need to emphasize. They are about curriculum, teaching, and strategic planning.
