Shilpa Naik

Shilpa Naik is a magistrate judge of the Rhode Island Family Court. She assumed office on January 10, 2022.

She was appointed to the court on November 23, 2021 by Daniel McKee to replace Stephen J. Capineri.[1]

Education

Naik received her undergraduate degree from the Brandeis University in 1991 and her J.D. from the Western New England College School of Law in 1994.[2]

Career

Prior to assuming office, Naik has worked in Family Court as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate, providing legal representation to children in the care of the Department of Children, Youth and Families. She also was partner at Oster & Naik Law Offices and a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Rhode Island.[2]
