Dennis McGuire is a judge on the El Paso County Court in Colorado. He was appointed on September 17, 2020, effective January 12, 2021, by Gov. Jared Polis (D) to replace Karla J. Hansen.[1]

Education

McGuire earned a bachelor's degree from Northern Arizona University in 1998, and a J.D. from Case Western Reserve School of Law in 2001.[1]

Career

At the time of his appointment to the El Paso County Court, McGuire had served as a magistrate in the Colorado 4th Judicial District since 2015. He previously worked in the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender as a Supervising Deputy State Public Defender from 2007-2015, and as a Deputy State Public Defender from 2001 to 2007.[1]
