Keith Allred
Keith Allred is an former Harvard professor and a professional mediator based in Boise, Idaho. On December 10, 2009, Allred announced his intent to run for Governor of Idaho in 2010 as a Democrat.[1] Allred is the founder and President of The Common Interest, a nonpartisan "good government" advocacy group.[2]
In the 2010 election, he lost in the general election to incumbent Republican Butch Otter.

Allred defeated Lee R. Chaney, Jr. in the May 25 primary, winning with 81.7% of the vote.
Allred faced Republican incumbent Butch Otter and Libertarian Ted Dunlap in the general election on November 2, 2010. Otter won the election.
Future plans
Allred lost to Butch Otter by a 59-32 percent margin at the polls in November 2010, but he says he won’t rule out another run for office. In a message to supporters, Allred also explained that he would still like to expand his lobbying group, The Common Interest, in coming years.
”Despite the outcome, I have been truly happy with our campaign and honored by the support we received,” wrote Allred. ”I will consider the running again if the circumstances are right.”
He did not indicate what office he might seek if the conditions were to his liking.[3]
