Douglas L. Richards was a judge of the Fifth Judicial District, serving in Faribault County, Minnesota. He joined the court on March 6, 1995, and retired from the bench effective November 1, 2017.[1][2]

Richards earned a B.A. in political science from Hamline University and a J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law.[1]

Richards' professional experience includes work as the city attorney for Blue Earth, an assistant county attorney for Faribault County, and an attorney in private practice with the Blue Earth firm Spencer, Johnson & Richards. He has served as president of the 17th District Bar Association, the Faribault County Bar Association, the Blue Earth Chamber of Commerce, the United Way, and the Lions Club.[1]
