As a hands-on public school parent, volunteer, educator, and advocate for nearly two decades, I understand from experience what it takes to serve the Algonkian District. I have worked in our schools in many capacities, including volunteering as a parent, tutoring students, serving in multiple PTA roles, and substitute teaching. I have been a Moms Demand Action member since the organization's inception, working with other parents to keep our schools safe from gun violence. I worked as a long-term and short-term sub throughout Sterling during the pandemic. Earlier in my career, I worked in a bipartisan government affairs firm. As an early childhood educator and legal technology instructor, I have taught young students and adults. I currently serve as the Algonkian District School Board Staff Aide. I am ready to step into the job on Day One and continue to help lead our public schools forward.
  • Public Schools are for Everyone. Every student should be safe, seen and respected and have access to world class learning opportunities.
  • Excellent Schools Depend on Excellent Educators. We should prioritize improving pay and working conditions.
  • Addressing the disparity in our aging infrastructure while focusing on good governance and fiscal responsibility.
Loudoun County Public Schools has experienced many challenges in recent years. I am running because I believe in the transformative power of public education, and I want to protect that opportunity for all of Loudoun County’s students. I am running to refocus the decision-making process on the needs of students, to ensure an excellent, free public school education for every child by attracting and retaining outstanding educators, and to foster a safe and supportive school environment. I believe we must learn about and celebrate our diverse student population, and that introducing all of our students to the ideas of fairness and inclusion is critical to preparing them to be citizens of the world. I will always center my decisions on student needs, listen to families and staff, and advocate for an exceptional educational experience that remains welcoming for all our children.
School boards are elected to pass policies that serve students, teachers, parents, and the wider community. Right now, our communities must choose leaders who will focus on the challenges our students face - leaders who can multitask, collaborate, provide good governance, and prioritize responsible financial stewardship. I will keep students at the center of every decision, listen to and communicate with parents and staff, and support evidence-based best practices to improve test scores, address learning loss, and keep our school buildings safe. Good governance is the key to running a successful school division and building a strong foundation to make it possible for students to succeed.
