Education

Voy received his J.D. degree from the Willamette University College of Law in Salem, Oregon, in 1986.[3]

Career

Before he became a judge, Voy worked as an attorney in private practice for ten years in Las Vegas, Nevada. He previously served as a captain in the U.S. Army’s Judge Advocate General’s Office at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.[3]

2013 judicial performance evaluation

In 2013, the Las Vegas Review-Journal sponsored a survey of 902 lawyers who rated Nevada Supreme Court justices and judges located in Clark County. 72% of respondents voted in favor of keeping Voy on the bench. The average vote in favor of retention for all 88 judges evaluated was 71%.[4]
