John Q. McShane
John Q. McShane was a Fourth Judicial District judge for Hennepin County, Minnesota. He was appointed to this position in 1998 and elected in 2000, 2006, and 2012. His six-year term expired in January 2019.[1]
Education
McShane received his B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1968 and his J.D. degree from St. Louis University in 1973.[1]
Career
McShane began his legal career in 1973 as a law clerk for U.S. District Court Judge Miles Lord. In 1975, he joined the law firm of Gray, Plant, Mooty, Mooty & Bennett, where he later became a partner. He then helped found the firm of Bowman & Brooke, LLP in 1985, where he worked as an attorney and partner until his judicial appointment in 1998.[1]
Elections
2012
McShane ran unopposed in the general election November 6, 2012.[2] He received 98.59% of the vote.[3]
