Michael Howlett was a judge of the Cook Circuit of Illinois. He was appointed to this position in 2005. He previously served as an associate judge from 1983 to 1986.[1][2] Howlett passed away on March 16, 2014.[3]

Education

Howlett was a graduate of the Notre Dame University Law School.[1]

Career

Howlett worked as a clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He later worked for the U.S. Attorney's Office and then in private practice. He was also counsel to Cook County State's Attorney Richard Devine. From 1983 to 1986, he served as an associate judge and, in 2005, he was appointed a circuit judge.[1]

Howlett was retained to the Cook Circuit on Nov. 6, 2012, with 76.7% of the vote.[4][5]
