Thomas J. Carroll (Illinois)
Thomas J. Carroll (Democratic Party) is a judge of the Cook County Circuit Court in Illinois. He assumed office in 2012. His current term ends on December 7, 2026.
Carroll ran for re-election for judge of the Cook County Circuit Court in Illinois. He won in the retention election on November 3, 2020.
Carroll was first appointed to the Cook County Circuit Court to replace the late Donna Phelps-Felton.[1]
Education
Carroll earned a B.A. at St. Xavier College and later received his J.D. from the Chicago-Kent College of Law. He was admitted to the bar in 1988.[2]

Prior to his first judicial appointment in 2011, Carroll maintained a law practice in Palos Hills, Illinois. He had worked as an attorney since 1988, his experience including time spent as a criminal defense attorney and an assistant public defender.[4]
