Jana Austad is a district court judge for the Ninth District in Cass County, Minnesota. Austad was appointed by Governor Mark Dayton in April of 2013.[1]

She was re-elected in 2014 for a term that expires in 2020.[2]

Education

Austad received her B.A. from Augsburg College and her J.D. from the William Mitchell College of Law in 1991.[1][3]

Career

Austad was the managing attorney in the Brainerd Regional Office of the Minnesota Public Defender. Before that, Austad was with Kief, Fuller, Baer and Wallner, Ltd. as a private practice attorney.[4]
