Robert Varco was a Minnesota Tenth Judicial District judge for Sherburne County, Minnesota. He was appointed to this position on December 27, 2000 and was elected to full terms in 2002 and 2008.[1] Varco passed away from urothelial cell kidney cancer on May 27, 2013.[2]

Education

Varco received his B.A. degree from the University of Minnesota in 1970 and his J.D. degree from the William Mitchell College of Law in 1974.[1]

Career

Varco began his legal career in 1974 and served as a Minnesota Attorney General for a year. From 1981 to 2000, he was a partner of the firm of Berglund and Varco. He also worked part-time as a Public Defender in the 10th Judicial District. Varco was appointed as a Minnesota Tenth Judicial District judge on December 27, 2000 and was re-elected in 2002 and 2008.[1]
