Chuck Smith (b. July 4, 1952) was a 2012 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House representing the 3rd Congressional District of Virginia. He withdrew before the primary.
Biography
At age 17, Smith enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served for six years. Upon completing his service, Smith earned his B.A. and J.D. from North Carolina Central University. He went on to receive a commission from the U.S. Navy JAG Corps and earned his certification in certification in Military Science from the Naval Justice School. He served in the Navy as an attorney for two decades. Smith and his wife have five children.[1]

Smith was running in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Virginia's 3rd District. He did not file by the signature filing deadline.
