Robert F. Carolan
Robert F. Carolan is a former Minnesota First Judicial District judge for Dakota County, Minnesota. He joined this court in 1987 and he retired in February of 2011.[1]
Throughout 2008, Carolan served as an international judge on the Appellate Division of the "War Crimes Chamber of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo". From October 2004 to April 2005, he was a chairperson on the Kosovo Judicial and Prosecutorial Council. He was also an international judge for the United Nations Mission in Kosovo from December 2002 to May 2003.
Judge Carolan began his career as a Minnesota Special Assistant Attorney General in 1970. He became an Assistant Dakota County Attorney in 1974 and a County Attorney in 1979. He worked in this capacity until he joined the District Court in 1987.[2]
