The Florida Executive Director of the Department of Economic Opportunity is a state executive position in the Florida state government. Created in 2011, the goal of the office is to assist the governor in developing and promoting economic opportunities for the state.[1]
Officially opening its doors on October 1, 2011, the Department combined the Agency for Workforce Innovation, the Department of Community Affairs and the Governor’s Office of Tourism, Trade and Economic Development.[2]

The current officeholder is Ken Lawson, appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) in December 2018. Lawson took office in January 2019.[3]
