Nunda Township open space land purchase referendum, 2009
A Nunda Township open space land purchase referendum took place on April 7, 2009 in McHenry County for voters in the Spring Grove Fire Protection District in Illinois.[1]
The measure was defeated, by a margin of 2,465 against to 1,705 in support.

Voters were asked to approve $15 million to buy land that township officials believe should be preserved as open space. Voters defeated similar proposals in 2004 and 2007. If the referendum had been approved, township officials would have several financing options. If a flat tax rate schedule was selected, the referendum could cost about $14 more a year for every $100,000 of assessed market value of a home.
