Carlos Alvarez (California)
Carlos Alvarez (b. 1987) was the Peace and Freedom Party candidate for Governor of California in the California's 2010 gubernatorial election. He previously ran for Mayor of Los Angeles in 2009.[1]
The candidate statement submitted by Alvarez to the official voter's pamphlet says, "Bailout working people—not banks. Fund human needs—not war!"

Alvarez defeated Stuart A. Alexander and Mohammad Arif in the June 8 primary.
He faced Meg Whitman (R), Jerry Brown (D), Laura Wells (G), Chelene Nightingale, (American Independence) and Dale Ogden (L) in the general election on November 2, 2010. Brown won the election.[2]
