Ending Sanctuary Cities: Texans are enduring unprecedented burdens because of drugs, disease, crime, human trafficking, and increased taxes. These problems and pressures are byproducts of several cities turning a blind eye to illegal immigration. While we treasure legal immigration, we cannot continue to ignore the social and economic stress caused by the flow of illegal aliens. Our aim is to end Sanctuary Cities in Texas. Enforcing Texas Border Security: The Federal government has failed to properly enforce our Texas border, thereby disrespecting our state sovereignty as well as the culture and security of Texans. Therefore the state of Texas is called to defend its own borders by enforcing existing immigration laws with adequate manpower. Keeping terrorists who threaten our families from crossing our border is our highest goal. 1st Amendment Religious Protection: Our Judeo-Christian heritage is under attack by the government of the United States. Political correctness, with its legalities and executive orders, is undermining religious freedoms established by our founding fathers and practiced by the majority of our nation. Working with elected legislators, our objective is to safeguard long-standing religious rights of all Texans. 2nd Amendment Protections for All Texans: The language of our 2nd Amendment guarantees that we, Texans and all citizens of the United States, remain free from tyranny. Our highly-valued right to bear arms must never be taken for granted. Our hallmark is to defend gun rights and our ability to protect our families. We resolve that our 2nd Amendment must never be compromised by the federal government or by liberal progressives within our state legislature. School Choice for All Texas Families: Educational funds belong first to the child. Too many funds are allocated to districts and administrators who disregard the best interest of the student. School Choice legislation will oblige both public and private schools to compete for the expertise of educators. No longer will children be confined to inadequate school districts. Families will have options available to them to pursue the education their children deserve.[1] |
