Maureen C. Washington was a 2015 nonpartisan candidate for District 5 of the Greensboro City Council in North Carolina.
Biography
At the time of his candidacy, Washington was earning a B.S. in political science, with a minor in business entrepreneurship, from North Carolina A&T University. She is scheduled to graduate in 2018.[1]
When not in school, Washington hosts a podcast called Acoustic Vibrations 4 the Mind and is the author of Life on Purpose, which she describes on her website as a "motivation and inspirational literary work."[1]

The city of Greensboro, North Carolina, held elections for mayor and city council on November 3, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was August 7, 2015.[4] Incumbent Tony Wilkins was unopposed for District 5.[5] Maureen C. Washington filed to run against Wilkins, but in early September she changed her voter registration address to outside of District 5, disqualifying herself from running for the position.[6]
