Lisa Posthumus Lyons
Lisa Posthumus Lyons (Republican Party) was a member of the Michigan House of Representatives, representing District 86. Lyons assumed office on January 1, 2011. Lyons left office in 2017.
Lyons (Republican Party) ran for election for Lieutenant Governor of Michigan. Lyons lost in the general election on November 6, 2018.
She ran on a joint ticket with the gubernatorial nominee, Bill Schuette (R).
On August 15, 2018, The Detroit Free Press reported that Attorney General Bill Schuette, the Republican gubernatorial nominee, was naming Lyons as his running mate for the general election.[1]
Lyons is a former Republican member of the Michigan House of Representatives, representing District 86 from 2010 to 2017. After leaving the state House, Lyons became the Kent County clerk.[1]
Biography
Lyons earned her bachelor's degree in Agricultural and Natural Resources Communications from Michigan State University. Her professional experience includes working as the Director of Public Policy & Community Outreach for the Grand Rapids Association of Realtors.

The candidate filing deadline was April 19, 2016. Incumbent Lisa Posthumus Lyons (R) did not seek re-election because of term-limits.

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 22, 2014. Lynn Mason was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Lisa Posthumus Lyons defeated Angela Rigas in the Republican primary. Lyons defeated Mason in the general election.[7][8][9][10]

Lyons won the District 86 seat in 2010. She defeated Kimberly Cummings, John Schwartz and Rob VerHeulen in the August 3 Republican primary. She defeated Frank Hammond (D) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[12][13]
