Campaign themes

2016

The following issues were listed on Travison's campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • The Economy: My number one priority for economic recovery will be meaningful compensation for people who lost their homes, pension funds, and savings as a result of fraudulent acts from the many who destroyed our economy. To date we have only slapped the wrists of those involved.
  • The Housing Crisis: I have spent four plus years researching and fighting the mortgage crisis from 2009-2014 and many a lawyer has said to me that while no one may ever know fully what transpired, I know more than 95% of the general population with regard to what DID happen. The mortgage crisis of 2008 was the worst criminal activity ever in America. It makes the alleged "Mafia" look like candy store operators.
  • Wall Street: The CEOs and directors of the failed companies, however, have largely gone unscathed," Buffett continued. "Their fortunes may have been diminished by the disasters they oversaw, but they still live in grand style. It is the behavior of these CEOs and directors that needs to be changed: If their institutions and the country are harmed by their recklessness, they should pay a heavy price – one not reimbursable by the companies they've damaged nor by insurance.
  • Fiscal Conservatism: Conservatism is a term thrown around by many in the Washington, especially during an election year. But if you examine it carefully, most often it is nothing more than irresponsibility used for political gain.
  • Job Creation: There was a time in America when this was a non issue. This is something I can tell you about not from what some may have read in a book or what some may have learned in a modern day economics or business school class that is tainted by greed, but from first hand experience. I was there.
