Allen Witt (Iowa)
Allen Witt was the District 4 member of the Cedar Rapids Board of Education in Iowa. The seat was up for general election on September 8, 2015.[1]
Witt was defeated by challenger Rafael Jacobo for the District 4 seat.[2]
Biography
Witt is the owner and operator of Trusted Inspect, LLC. He also is an instructor of architecture, construction and engineering at Kirkwood Community College. He has previously served as the chairman of the board for the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance and the president of the Rotary Club of Cedar Rapids. Witt earned his bachelor's degree in construction engineering and management from Purdue University.[3]
Elections
2015
Four of the seven seats on the Cedar Rapids Board of Education were up for election on September 8, 2015. There were two at-large seats available, as well as a seat in District 1 and District 4.
Incumbent Mary Meisterling ran unopposed and won in District 1. The District 4 incumbent, Allen Witt, was defeated by challenger Rafael Jacobo. The race for the two available at-large seats included incumbents John Laverty and Ann Rosenthal, along with challengers Todd Cohenour and Kristin Janssen. Laverty and Janssen defeated Rosenthal and Cohenour for the two at-large seats.[4][5][6]

Funding
Witt reported no contributions or expenditures to the Iowa Ethics and Campaign Disclosure Board during the election.[7] Any candidate spending, receiving or incurring debt in the amount of $1,000 or less was not required to file the disclosure form for campaign finances.[8]
