Allison Dougan is a pre-law university student that graduated high school at thirteen. She has undergone a Political Science program and is currently attending Purdue University in pursuit of a pre-law degree. Allison loves learning and all educational opportunities, however, law and politics have always been a passion for her.

Allison grew up in a predominantly Christian and Military family with a visually impaired mother. Her values for both family and God have shaped her into the respectful and wise young girl that she is. All the while her family's background in the military has offered her an understanding and respect for our servicemen, and service families, that will last her a lifetime.

Allison is a beekeeper, volunteer, and constitutionalist - she stands with the rights and liberties in both the United States Constitution and the United States Bill of Rights. She has been immersed in the entrepreneur lifestyle since she was young, allowing her a broad knowledge and understanding of the business world and every-day life for both individuals her age and those older than her.

Allison is running for office now, despite not meeting the age requirement, to raise awareness of the youth and the age discrimination taking place by the minimum age being twenty-one. Allison believes that everyone's voice should be heard and that all Americans should be granted the same rights, regardless of economic situations, race, sexual orientation, religion, and gender.

  • Vote for the future
  • It's time America's voice is heard again

Some of the core characteristics that I find important for elected officials is honesty, compassion, integrity, flexibility. While a really large principle for me would be the ability to put your own political opinions behind you to represent the consensus opinion of your constituents.
One of the first historical events that I can remember is Hurrican Katrina hitting New Orleans in 2005, followed by the devastating death toll and the heart-breaking wreckage left in its wake. At the time I would have been three. After that would be the Civil Partnership Act in 2005, which granted same-sex couples the same rights as heterosexual married couples. And then President Barrack Obama getting elected into office in 2008 as the first black president, I would have been five at the time.
I personally volunteer most of my time (at least the time that I am not studying or attending classes) and work on entrepreneurial expenditures. Some of these expenditures include beekeeping, sno cones, educating the youth about farm animals and environmental topics, a pumpkin patch, woodworking, etc.

I do believe that it is beneficial for state legislators to have previous experience in government and politics, however, I do not believe that it is a requirement for them to be good legislatures. Our government was designed to be composed of everyday people who could influence legislation for other everyday people.
