Beverly Slough earned a bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1972. Her career experience includes working as a public servant. Slough has been affiliated with the following organizations:[1]

Incumbent Beverly Slough was unopposed in the election for District 1 on the St. Johns County school board. Since only one candidate filed, the election was canceled and did not appear on the ballot.
2014
The August 26, 2014, general election in St. Johns County featured three seats up for election. Incumbent Beverly Slough defeated challenger Kelly Lorbeer for the District 1 seat. District 3 incumbent William "Bill" Mignon also won re-election, defeating challengers Karen Harvey and Ralph D. Klein. In the District 4 race, Kelly Dawn Barrera defeated fellow candidate Nicholas M. Graham.

2012
Slough ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Florida's 6th District. Slough sought the nomination on the Republican ticket.[2] Slough was defeated by Ron DeSantis in the Republican primary on August 14, 2012.[3]

|- I am proud of my twenty years of service on the St. Johns County School Board. My long tenure has allowed me to gain the knowledge and experience needed to give oversite to the largest employer in our county with an operating budget of $1.2 billion dollars.
- My key focus on my tenure has been to provide an excellent education to the ever increasing student body of our county. This effort has led to St. Johns County’s number one status in the state for the last fourteen years. This has been accomplished by focusing on each student and his/her indivisible learning needs.
- St. Johns County provides our students with academic choice through the development of career academies at all of our high schools, enabling students to prepare themselves for college and career in over 24 areas of study.
Recruiting and retaining the most qualified teachers possible to accomplish this goal is a major focus.

Proving adequate professional development that helps teachers acquire the advanced teaching skills they need to be successful. Assigning experienced teachers to mentor beginning teachers is also essential.
