Collier ran for election to the office of Lieutenant Governor of South Dakota.[2][3]

Collier ran with Mike Myers, an Independent candidate for Governor of South Dakota.[4] On August 4, according to Ballot Access News, Myers filed suit to replace Collier with a new running mate due to an " imminent health issue in her family."[5][6]
