I'm Caleb Stack, and I'm running for Congress in Tennessee's Seventh District. Growing up in Cheatham County instilled in me a love for the outdoors and the importance of family time. My academic journey at the University of Tennessee, where I studied History and International Studies, and my professional experience in data analytics and management have always been guided by the aspiration to attend law school. My wife and our three kids and I are proud to call Cheatham County our home, where I've gained a firsthand understanding of our community's needs and how I can address them.

My mission is to effect genuine change in Washington. This means prioritizing the support of our local schools, ensuring our borders are secure, fostering the growth of businesses, enhancing healthcare, and safeguarding our nation. Tennessee families are my top priority.

I'm also keen on bringing fresh perspectives to the Republican Party. It's essential to engage with the younger generation and adapt our policies to be forward-thinking. I advocate for high-quality education, equitable immigration laws, a robust economy, accessible healthcare, environmental stewardship, and unwavering support for our veterans.

Moreover, I believe it's critical that Americans see direct benefits from their tax dollars, emphasizing domestic needs and investments before extending our resources abroad. It’s about ensuring we're equipped to help ourselves before we extend help to others.
  • Empowering Communities and Upholding American Values: My focus is on revitalizing the core pillars of our society—education, economy, and healthcare—by empowering local communities, ensuring educational excellence with local control, fostering a free-market economy while addressing corporate dominance, and reforming healthcare to enhance competition and patient choice. I prioritize the strengthening of public education, support for a balanced economic growth that benefits all Americans, and healthcare reforms aimed at improving care quality and affordability.
  • Strengthening National Security and Integrity: I am committed to ensuring the safety and prosperity of Americans through strict enforcement of immigration laws, secure borders, and a robust approach to national defense, guided by the principle of "speak softly and carry a big stick." My approach includes prioritizing American citizens in policy-making, advocating for fair and secure elections free from undue influence, and demanding accountability and efficiency in government operations to serve the people's interests first and foremost.
  • Promoting Sustainable Development and Honoring Service: Acknowledging the importance of environmental stewardship, I support initiatives that balance economic growth with conservation efforts. I am dedicated to advancing homeland security measures to protect against threats while ensuring that veterans receive the recognition, care, and support they rightfully deserve. My vision encompasses a future where sustainable development and respect for those who have served our country are integral to our national policy.

From a political perspective, I've always looked up to Thomas Jefferson and his accomplishments. I think that's because we were both born on April 13 and that's always stuck with me. Otherwise, I've looked up to Roger Federer for as long as I can remember because he is an icon of tennis and carries himself with such class and grace on and off the court that it's hard not to admire him. As a tennis fan I wept when I heard of his retirement.

Integrity, competence, accountability, leadership, public service, communication, and collaboration are essential traits for any elected official. Integrity ensures actions and decisions are made ethically and transparently, placing the community's interest above personal or partisan gains. Competence involves a thorough understanding of policies, laws, and governance, enabling officials to address complex challenges effectively. Accountability ties officials to their constituents, demanding they are answerable and transparent in their actions. Leadership requires vision, resilience, and the ability to inspire and guide others towards common goals, embodying commitment and courage. Public service is the dedication to improving the community's welfare, prioritizing public good over personal ambitions. Effective communication is crucial for understanding constituents' needs, articulating policies clearly, and fostering open dialogue. Collaboration emphasizes working together across different viewpoints to achieve the best outcomes for the community.

These traits interconnect to form the foundation of effective governance, reinforcing each other to build trust, address community needs, and lead with honor and efficacy. An official who embodies these principles can navigate challenges, unite diverse groups, and drive meaningful progress, ensuring their tenure is marked by positive impact and public trust.
I believe I possess several qualities that will make me an effective officeholder. My foremost attribute is my unwavering commitment to public service and prioritizing the needs of my district and the nation.

As a mediator, I excel at listening to and empathizing with diverse viewpoints. This enables me to understand various perspectives and develop policies that genuinely address our challenges while always adhering to my commitment to serve the public interest.

Honesty and transparency are paramount to me. I am committed to acting ethically, aiming to build trust with the public and ensure fairness in governance.

My background in data analytics and process management has honed my ability to critically analyze policies, identify solutions, and manage complex projects. This expertise ensures I approach problems pragmatically and with a focus on results. Additionally, my experience and education in legal studies have prepared me to navigate the complexities I will face in Washington.

My history and international studies curriculum have provided me with a comprehensive understanding of political issues and their evolution, both domestically and globally. This knowledge, combined with my interest in geopolitics, informs my decision-making process.

Resilience and adaptability, learned through facing various personal and professional challenges, equip me to handle the unpredictable nature of public service. This ability to adapt and persevere is key.

Together, these qualities define my approach to leadership. I am dedicated to diligently serving our community, focusing on the greater good, and striving to make a significant, positive impact on the lives of those I represent.
I believe the core responsibilities of a United States Representative encompass legislation, representation, oversight, and constituent service.

From a legislative perspective, as a representative, I must argue in the best interest of my district, while understanding that on the national stage, the overarching goal is to pass comprehensive legislation that benefits the public at large. Representing my constituency in those legislative sessions is crucial, ensuring, at the very least, that the legislation does not negatively affect my district.

As a representative, I would also have a duty to oversee federal agencies and programs to validate their purpose and ensure accountability and efficiency. This involves scrutinizing the government to verify that taxpayer funds and federal authority are not being misused, which is necessary to ensure executive operations align with legislative intent.

Lastly, as a representative, I would have an obligation to assist my constituents in navigating federal agencies and accessing government services. This is perhaps the most direct and critical responsibility I could undertake as a representative
Steadfast commitment to the principles of democracy, unwavering service to my constituents, and meaningful contributions to the betterment of our community and nation. I want to be remembered as someone who bridged divides, fostered genuine dialogue, and brought about tangible, positive changes that uplifted the lives of the people I served. Through my work, I hope to inspire future generations to engage in public service with integrity, empathy, and a deep sense of responsibility to their fellow citizens. My goal is to leave a legacy that not only reflects my dedication to addressing the pressing issues of our time—such as economic inequality, access to quality education and healthcare, and environmental sustainability—but also my commitment to upholding the ideals of justice and the common good. In the end, I wish to be remembered as a representative who truly listened, who acted with courage and conviction, and who made a lasting impact by championing policies that fostered unity, prosperity, and inclusivity.
If this counts, I remember the OJ Simpson murder trial and I was around 6 years old. I remember I had no idea what was going on, but I knew my mother was enthralled with the case and its updates. I also remember election day coverage of Bill Clinton as my mother made my brother and I watch it after returning home from daycare as part of our civic duty. Those two things happened pretty close to each other as far as I remember. Then it was the Gore/Bush recount in 2000. Then it was 9/11/2001, where I watched the United States get attacked while I was sitting in Mr. Coolican's 7th grade English class.
I was a cart boy at the local golf course down the road from me. I had it for several years after school and during the summers. I worked there throughout high school until I left for college.
"Profiles in Courage" by John F. Kennedy

This book influenced my perspective on leadership and public service. It features stories about American leaders who faced daunting pressures but chose to do what they felt was right, often at great personal and political cost. These stories underscore the importance of integrity, courage, and standing firm in one’s convictions, even when such stands are unpopular. As I navigate the complexities of political life, the principles illustrated in this book serve as a guiding light, reminding me that true leadership involves making difficult choices for the greater good. Kennedy’s exploration of the inner conflicts and societal pressures these leaders faced resonates with the challenges of contemporary governance, reinforcing my commitment to act with courage and uphold the values of democracy and justice in my service.
I would want to be myself, but as a wizard in the Harry Potter universe. Preferably in America - assuming magic is a global phenomenon in Harry Potter.
Navigating adulthood as a millennial. The 20 second version would be that I did everything "right" meaning that I did everything my parents, teachers, commercials, etc. told me to do by going to college and working, but I've still struggled to hit the 2020's version of what was middle class as recently as the 90s.
The House of Representatives is unique due to its closer proximity to the American people. As the 'People's House,' it's designed to be directly responsive to the immediate needs and concerns of constituents. With shorter terms and a larger body, it encapsulates a wide array of perspectives and voices, ensuring diverse representation. This dynamic environment fosters a vibrant debate and a more direct form of democracy.
While previous experience in government or politics can provide valuable insights and understanding of legislative processes, it's not the only path to effective representation. Fresh perspectives and diverse backgrounds can bring innovative solutions and challenge the status quo. What matters most is a deep commitment to serving the community, understanding its needs, advocating tirelessly on its behalf, and understanding civic responsibility as an American.
In the next ten years, we face several urgent challenges that need quick and firm responses.

First, economic stability and growth are key. The global economy is changing fast, and we need to adapt to ensure everyone benefits, not just the wealthy. Creating meaningful jobs and a fair economy is my goal.

Healthcare is another big issue. We must make healthcare affordable and accessible for all Americans, using innovative, free-market strategies to cut costs and improve care without leaving anyone behind.

National security and our role in the world are also important as we deal with cyber threats, terrorism, and changes in global power. I plan to adapt our foreign policy to protect our interests and promote worldwide stability.

Education needs to change too. We must update our system to prepare our workforce for the future. We also need to tackle political polarization to bring unity and restore trust in our democratic systems.

Immigration reform is immediately critical. We need a system that's secure, fair, and compassionate. Investing in our infrastructure and technology is also vital for our economic and social health, focusing on modernization and new solutions.

Lastly, climate change is an increasingly urgent threat. I am committed to action that enhances our environmental stewardship by focusing on responsible energy solutions that reduce energy loss, but not to the extent that it places unfair burdens on small businesses and taxpayers.
The two-year term length for representatives ensures accountability and keeps them closely aligned with their constituents' evolving needs. It compels them to remain engaged with their districts and responsive to their concerns. While it presents challenges, such as the constant need for campaigning, it reinforces the principle that our primary duty is to serve and represent the people effectively.
I believe it was unreasonable to impose term limits on the presidency because if the people of the United States are content and satisfied with the President's performance, there should be no restriction on the number of terms he or she can serve.

Conversely, I argue that term limits should be applied to Congress to ensure decisions are made by individuals who are actively engaged and have a direct stake in the outcomes. In my opinion, it would be sensible to limit terms to 12 years—two terms for Senators and six terms for Representatives, although this is open to discussion and negotiation. The main point is that the legislative branch is in much greater need of term limits than the executive branch.
Reflecting on American history, two figures inspire me profoundly: Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln. Jefferson's role in the Second Continental Congress, representing Virginia, was monumental. His drafting of the Declaration of Independence laid the ideals of liberty and equality that I strive to uphold. Jefferson's vision for America influences my desire to ensure our nation's promises are accessible to all.

Lincoln's leadership during division and his moral stand against slavery exemplify the integrity and courage I aim to embody. His commitment to the Union and principles over politics guides my approach to today's challenges.

I aspire to blend Jefferson's visionary intellect with Lincoln's steadfast resolve. Jefferson's contribution to our national identity, through his representation of Virginia and his articulation of democratic ideals, alongside Lincoln's unwavering dedication to justice, shapes my goals in public service.

Drawing inspiration from both, I commit to leading with honor, listening to my constituents, and tirelessly working towards a future that respects their legacy. My path, influenced by their examples, will focus on meeting today's unique challenges while honoring the principles that define us.
One story that stands out is from a single parent in our district who struggles to access affordable healthcare for her child with a chronic illness. Her determination, amidst financial and emotional challenges, underscores the critical need for healthcare reform. It's stories like hers that drive my commitment to ensuring accessible, affordable healthcare for all.

Another story I've heard involves a retired couple who wanted to build a house but were taken advantage of by an individual using another person's license. The work was botched so badly that, five years later, they still haven't received a certificate of occupancy and face numerous problems preventing them from enjoying what was supposed to be a profound achievement. This motivates me to close legal loopholes that allow Americans to be exploited this way.
"If you try to fail, and succeed, which have you done?" - George Carlin
In today's complex world of politics, the importance of finding common ground cannot be overstated. As we tackle the wide range of issues facing our communities and the nation, it's clear that no single viewpoint has all the answers. Our nation's strength lies in its diverse opinions and the challenges we face together, requiring us to work collaboratively, embracing different perspectives and striving for unity.

Compromise isn't about giving up our values; it's a sign of our democracy's vitality. It's how we find ways to move forward together, creating policies that are not just effective, but also inclusive. Embracing compromise means recognizing that true progress comes from understanding each other and working towards common objectives, even if we initially disagree on the methods.

I promise to always look for solutions that serve our collective well-being, remaining open to discussion, willing to negotiate, and ready to find middle ground. This commitment involves reaching across political divides and overcoming the obstacles that too often slow our nation's progress. In doing so, we not only honor the essence of democracy but also ensure that our government truly represents and works for its people.

The hurdles ahead are too important for partisan disagreements to get in the way. With a commitment to collaboration and a deep belief in our community's and country's collective wisdom and resilience, I am dedicated to pursuing and championing policies that draw us nearer to a shared dream of prosperity, safety, and opportunity for everyone.
The Constitution's mandate that all bills for raising revenue originate in the House places us at the forefront of addressing the nation's fiscal responsibilities. This power is a tool to prioritize investments in our community's well-being, education, infrastructure, and healthcare, ensuring that our tax system is fair and that our spending reflects the values and needs of the people we serve.
The House's investigative powers are a crucial component of our oversight responsibility, aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability in government. It's essential that these powers are wielded judiciously, without the intent to catch the other party in a "gotcha moment," but rather to safeguard the public interest and do the work of the people. They serve to uncover wrongdoing and ensure that government agencies and officials are serving the American people effectively and ethically, free from partisan motives.
Energy and Commerce, Education, Armed Services, Small Business, Appropriations, Budget, Oversight and Accountability, Judiciary, Intelligence.
I'm deeply committed to the crucial importance of financial transparency and government accountability. My campaign is all about putting the community first, shaking up the status quo in Washington, and making sure our policies really work for the people.

Being open about finances is key. I believe in being clear about how the government spends money and performs financially. It's important that everyone can easily find and understand this information, so we know where our taxes are going and can call out unnecessary spending. I support laws that make this kind of information easy for everyone to access.

Holding our government accountable is another big part of my mission. We need strong systems to make sure our leaders and agencies do what they're supposed to do. I'm all for setting up better checks and balances and even putting term limits on Congress to keep politicians from getting out of touch with what people really need. I promise to push for rules that make sure government officials always answer to the people, act ethically, and face consequences if they don't.

Fighting corruption is also high on my list. I want to cut down on the power that special interest groups and lobbyists have in decision-making. I don't take PAC money because I believe in limiting big money's influence in politics and making elections fairer.

Finally, making sure government programs and agencies are doing their jobs well is essential. I'm in favor of more audits, using performance metrics to see how programs are doing, and regularly checking that regulations and agencies are really necessary.

Campaign website

Stack’s campaign website stated the following:

Issues

Education
I believe in local control of education, where parents, teachers, and local boards make the decisions. And while I’m all for giving parents options, it is crucial not to take away funds from public schools that are the heart of our communities. We must invest in these schools, providing them with the necessary tools to offer top-notch education to every student. Part of enhancing education includes attracting dedicated teachers to the profession with better support and incentives, and stressing the importance of American values, critical thinking, and civic responsibility in our curriculum. Moreover, we need to hold parents and students accountable for their roles in the educational process, ensuring active participation and respectful behavior. By focusing on bolstering public education with increased funding, support, and accountability, we can ensure every child has access to exceptional learning opportunities.

Immigration
A strong nation requires secure borders. I stand for strict enforcement of existing immigration laws and support measures to strengthen our border security. Legal immigration processes must be respected and streamlined to encourage lawful entry, while sanctuary cities that undermine federal law should not be tolerated. Immigration reform must prioritize the safety and economic well-being of American citizens.

Economy
I support a free-market economy with minimal government interference, which allows businesses to thrive and create jobs. However, we cannot overlook the issue of corporate oligarchy, where a few large corporations hold excessive power. To foster growth, innovation, and global competitiveness, it is crucial to implement lower taxes, deregulation, and fair trade policies. Simultaneously, we must promote entrepreneurship and investment in America in a manner that addresses the concentration of power among a handful of corporations. Strengthening antitrust and anti-monopoly laws is essential to break down undue corporate dominance, ensuring a healthy economic environment where prosperity and opportunities are available to all citizens.

Healthcare
Healthcare reform should focus on fostering competition, enhancing transparency, and expanding patient choice, which will help to lower costs and improve care quality. The current system, burdened by excessive government involvement, hampers innovation and efficiency. Policies need to be shifted to empower patients and doctors, allowing them to make healthcare decisions without unnecessary bureaucracy. Crucially, insurance companies should not be in the position of making medical decisions; their role should be to support patient care, not dictate it. By protecting individuals with pre-existing conditions and prioritizing market-driven solutions, we can tackle the challenges facing our healthcare system, making it more equitable and effective for everyone.

Foreign Policy
My approach to foreign policy follows Theodore Roosevelt's famous saying, "Speak softly, and carry a big stick." This means I believe in having a strong and ready military but always prefer to solve problems with diplomacy and peaceful methods first. I'm committed to building a strong national defense, spreading democracy and human rights around the world, and supporting trade agreements that benefit everyone involved. Protecting our country's independence is critical, so I'm careful about joining international groups or agreements that might limit our freedom. My goal is to balance talking and negotiating with a preparedness to use force if the need arises, to keep the United States and its allies safe from any threats.

Domestic Prioritization
Americans deserve first priority when it comes to the use of their hard-earned tax dollars. It's disheartening to see border bills allocating less than 16% of funds to securing our own borders, while the majority, a staggering 84%, is directed overseas to countries like Ukraine, Israel, Gaza, Taiwan, and illegal immigrants. This lopsided allocation not only undermines our national security but also neglects the pressing needs of our own communities. Just as the safety protocol on airplanes emphasizes securing our own oxygen masks before assisting others, it's imperative that we prioritize addressing domestic challenges first. By focusing on strengthening our nation's infrastructure, supporting small businesses, and revitalizing our economy, we can ensure a brighter future for all Americans and better position ourselves to assist others around the world.

Campaign Finance
I firmly believe that political campaigns should be funded by individual citizens and grassroots support, rather than special interest groups or corporate entities. To uphold the integrity of our democratic process, I refuse to accept PAC money or contributions that would tie me to organizations with agendas in Washington, D.C. My advocacy for campaign finance reform centers on limiting the influence of big money in politics and ensuring fair and open elections where every voice is heard, regardless of financial status. Therefore, I am dedicated to restoring trust in our electoral system and prioritizing the interests of Tennesseans above all else.

Government Reform
I am committed to making the government smaller and more efficient to prevent it from becoming too controlling and wasteful. My plan aims to ensure the government is more accountable to you, the people. This involves eliminating unnecessary parts of the government, reducing wasteful spending, and introducing term limits for Congress to ensure accountability and freshness in ideas. My goal is for the government to truly serve its citizens. Ensuring that government actions are transparent and officials are held accountable is a significant part of my plan. It is also crucial to allow states the freedom to make their own decisions in many areas, acknowledging their essential role in our nation. Achieving the right balance between state rights and federal responsibilities is key to creating a government that is effective and faithful to our founding principles.

Deficit Spending
Being careful with money is very important. Our government is spending so much that future generations might spend their whole lives paying off debt. We need to change this. Simply reducing how much more we spend than we earn is not enough. We must save more money than we spend, even if it's just a little. This means we, as a country, need to learn to live within our means. I support making changes to spend less, balance our budget, and be smart about our finances. This way, we can make sure the future is prosperous for everyone.

Environmental Stewardship
Conservation and responsible care for the environment are key conservative principles. I support methods of protecting the environment that also promote economic growth, ensuring we don't compromise our natural resources or our economic well-being. My support extends to revitalizing and upgrading our infrastructure, focusing on innovations that improve energy generation, storage, and reduce energy loss. This approach aims to boost American prosperity. Encouraging advancements in clean energy and sustainability is crucial, but we must ensure these efforts don't unfairly burden businesses and taxpayers.

Homeland Security
I support strong homeland security measures to protect our nation from both foreign and domestic threats. This includes prioritizing strong border security to prevent illegal immigration and keep criminals and terrorists out. I also believe in giving law enforcement agencies the tools and authority they need to effectively fight crime and terrorism. Strengthening intelligence-gathering capabilities and improving cooperation between federal, state, and local authorities are key parts of my approach to homeland security, ensuring the safety and security of all Americans.

Veterans
I deeply respect our veterans and believe in recognizing their service and sacrifices. Ensuring veterans receive the care and support they deserve, including timely access to healthcare services and benefits, is a top priority for me. I also support initiatives that assist veterans in transitioning smoothly into civilian life, such as job training programs and educational opportunities. Upholding our promises to veterans and tirelessly working to enhance their quality of life upon returning home is a duty we must fulfill. [2]
