Bill Dolezal is the superintendent of Cave Creek Unified School District. He was appointed on May 24, 2023.[1][2]
Past superintendents
- Cort Monroe was the superintendent of Cave Creek Unified School District from January 1, 2021 until he took personal leave effective February 27, 2023.[2] On May 11, 2023, Liberty Elementary School District announced their selection of Monroe as the district's next superintendent.[3] His previous career experience includes serving as Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services and Assistant Superintendent for Student Learning in the district.[4]
- Debbi Burdick was the superintendent of the Cave Creek Unified School District from 2008 to 2020. Burdick's previous career experience includes working as an adjunct professor at Arizona State University and Grand Canyon University.[5]

2022: Recall against all five school board members fails to qualify for ballot
An effort to recall all five members of the Cave Creek Unified School District Governing Board did not go to a vote in 2022. The effort failed to qualify for the ballot.[13]
The recall effort began in September 2021. Scott Brown, Janet Busbee, Jeff Fortney, Beth Hatcher, and Brianna Lynn Walker were named in the recall petitions. To get the recalls on the ballot, supporters would have had to submit petitions with 6,646 signatures for each member by January 14, 2022.[14][15]
