Five seats on the Cherokee Board of Education were up for general election on November 4, 2014. There was a primary election to select Republican candidates for District 3, 4, 5 and 6 on May 20, 2014. Only one incumbent, Robert Rechsteiner in District 4, filed for re-election. All of the candidates who ran for the board were Republican.

In the District 3 general election, John Arlen Harmon won unopposed since he defeated his Republican challenger, Brett Ladd, in the primary. The same was true of incumbent Robert Rechsteiner in District 4, Clark Menard in District 5 and Mike Chapman in District 6 since they all defeated their Republican challengers in the primary, and there were no Democratic candidates to face them.

The fifth seat up for election was a special election to fill District 1 vacated by Kelly Marlow, who resigned in April following a felony conviction.[1] Appointed board member Kyla Cromer, also a Republican, won the seat unopposed.
