Christian E. Montano is a judge of the San Miguel County Magistrate Court in New Mexico. He was elected in November 2014, effective January 1, 2015, for a term that expires on December 31, 2018.[1]

Montano ran for election to the San Miguel County Magistrate Court.
Primary: He was successful in the Democratic primary on June 3, 2014, receiving 40 percent of the vote. He competed against Mark A. Dominguez and Ruth E. Trujillo.
General: He defeated Edward Gallegos in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 72.8 percent of the vote.

Military service
Montano served in the United States Marine corps during Operation Desert Storm. He spent four years in the Corps and was then discharged honorably. He attained the rank of sergeant.[3]
Education
Montano completed Northwestern University’s Police Command course.[3]
Career
Prior to his election to the bench, Montano was the Las Vegas Chief of Police, a position he held since October 2010. Prior to that, he spent 18 years as a police officer.[3]
