What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

1. DUE PROCESS: Make sure everyone is fully heard in Court. 2. DIGNITY and RESPECT. Foster an attitude of service and respect for everyone who enters the courtroom. 3. JUDICIAL EXCELLENCE. Mediating disputes and helping litigants WITHIN the law, treating EVERYONE fairly and equally -- no matter who they are, and continously improving court service and efficiency.[6][7]

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?

Sincere Public Service: Public officials striving for excellence in serving OTHERS instead of selfishly promoting the officials own interests first.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[7]

Servant Leader inside and OUTSIDE the courtroom[7]
What is something that has been a struggle in your life?
Selfishness self-indulgence, and unbelief[7]
Do you believe that empathy is an important quality for a judge?

2016

Leuchtag issued the following statement regarding his bid for office:

Follow the Law as Intended by the Legislature

I fairly apply the law to the facts of each case – and never legislate from the bench. As a Judge, I defer to the intent of the elected law makers -- as written in the constitution, statutes, and other laws of the United States and Texas – while respecting the authority of binding higher court opinions.

Keep the Role of Government Limited and be Accountable

  • I have respect for private enterprise and private property and do not misuse the Court’s power to redistribute wealth. My role as a judge is to be fair to all, not being harsher to the rich or the poor because of their financial status.
  • I encourage and empower people to settle their own disputes and therefore limit, to the extent possible, the role of the Court in their lives.
  • Our court team will continue to be good stewards of your tax dollars by looking for opportunities to continuously improve court processes to increase efficiency and reduce delay and cost to litigants.

Embody Servant Leadership

  • Our court team will maintain a court atmosphere of humility, respect and public service.
  • We will continue to facilitate private organizations' assisting people who are truly in need.
