I am a nurse-midwife born and raised in Las Vegas, NM, where I currently reside with my husband. I have 3 children. I have worked as an engineer and owned & operated a healthcare practice for 7 years.
  • I will use my experiences and skills to bring real solutions and real representation to District 8.
  • Having been on the front lines caring for the women of the region and advocating for re-establishment of labor and delivery services after the local hospital closed their OB unit, I know what it means to fight for this community.
  • You know my work and my passion and I want to continue to fight for the families in our community.
Healthcare is my expertise and I am passionate about everyone, regardless of their ability to pay, having access to, at the very least, affordable and quality emergent and preventive services. A healthy workforce can build a strong economy. Our healthcare systems failings have become very evident in recent weeks with the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. I know how to approach and facilitate the system changes needed to ensure this never happens again.
I would like to pay tribute to all the strong women who have inspired me to become my best self, including those who are no longer earthside (the list is on my campaign Facebook page). These women have all influenced me in some way at different points in my life and helped me grow into the person that I am today.
I am a professional problem solver. I have a great deal of experience in collecting information and determining the best course of action to address a problem. I am also experienced in how to facilitate these solutions. I am very resourceful and am never afraid to admit when I need help. I am always interested in opposing views and will sometimes use self-awareness and self-reflection to determine what would be the right path to take.
I want people to remember that I was a hard worker and not afraid to stand up for what I believed was right.
I worked as a home chore assistant for senior citizens in a summer youth program while I was in high school.
Lonesome Dove - The idea of exploring new territory has always fascinated me.
Speaking in public has always been a struggle for me. When I was young my dad would always tell me to think before I speak and now I am always working to respond thoughtfully and respectfully when I speak. This makes it difficult for me to give off the cuff answers to questions.
