My life story is one of resilience, community engagement, and diverse experiences. Growing up in Southern Oregon, I had a typical American childhood. In 1999, I met my wife Julie, and we married in 2000. My career path has been varied and rich with experiences. I started as a low-voltage electrical journeyman but faced hardship when laid off during the housing crash. My community involvement includes:

Serving as a pastor and missionary Board President of Sparrow Clubs, helping medically fragile children Co-Chair Community Engagement Board Member for Ronald McDonald House Charities Business development manager for Hawaiian Time Restaurants and Corporate Black Rock Coffee Bar Opening and managing my own Black Rock Coffee Bar in Eugene during COVID lockdowns

Currently, I work as a Business Development Manager, Estimator, and Project Manager for a local commercial contractor. I also serve on the Board of Directors for Springfield Chamber of Commerce. My philosophy is shaped by the idea that "the city's issues are my issues," which has motivated me to take personal responsibility for community challenges. I believe that recent decisions have negatively impacted Springfield, eroding trust and diminishing the Oregon spirit. Driven by a desire to improve Springfield, I aim to connect current challenges with the city's potential. My goal is to be a leader who not only votes in Salem but actively participates in creating meaningful change for Springfield.
  • I know what it is to live paycheck to paycheck and raise a family while doing it. Unfortunately, too many Springfield families are in the same boat and are struggling with rising inflation, utility bills, grocery prices, and more. We need to stop adding fuel to the fire when it comes to driving up the cost of living.

Policies in Salem have a real impact on us in Springfield. Green energy mandates are driving up the cost of utility bills, and I have seen firsthand in the construction industry how taxes and regulations are driving up the cost of housing.

I've been bankrupt and I've been a business owner. It's time Springfield has a representative that helps working families get back up.
  • As a pastor, I've witnessed the devastating impact of homelessness and addiction. Our goal should be to provide necessary help and assistance for recovery, not enable drug use. Oregon's current approach focuses more on safe drug use than rehabilitation. We need to prioritize sobriety in treatment programs. We must empower law enforcement to address street issues. Recent Supreme Court decisions allow local regulation of homeless camps, but Oregon laws hinder this. We should keep camps out of Springfield, assist those with addiction and mental health challenges, and offer programs for rehabilitation. Accountability is necessary for those refusing help.
  • As a father, I've seen Oregon's education paradox: rising graduation rates but falling academic achievement. We've lowered standards and failed to support students adequately. We need a radical shift in education. The current system can't tackle our students' challenges. I propose empowering parents and students to direct their tax dollars to their preferred educational environment. As a father of two girls, I'm committed to fairness in sports. Oregon law allows boys in girls' sports, potentially dominating competitions. I'll advocate for safe spaces where girls can compete fairly.
I’m interested in the areas of public policy that are directly related to helping working families get back up, helping law enforcement handle the homeless crisis and keep violent criminals off our streets, and improving our education system.
Integrity and humility are at the top of my list. There has been an erosion of trust due to the lack of integrity in many elected officials. The focus has shifted more toward gaining political power than on serving the people they are supposed to represent and work for.

Humility means putting others before yourself. It involves a "servant leadership" approach and requires acknowledging when you don't fully know something, but with the willingness to listen, learn, and seek out the necessary information.

Both integrity and humility demand a person with a humble yet steadfast resolve to fight for policies that impact people's daily lives and to be a better steward of their hard-earned tax dollars.
It requires a compassionate and empathetic heart of someone who has been a small business owner and a family that has been directly impacted by the disconnection and divisive environment our politicians have created. It is through compassion and a steadfast resolve I plan to be a part of bridging the connection of my community to their government built back on trust.
My first job was newspaper delivery route when I was a teenager. I had the responsibility of delivering newspaper after I got home from school during the week and in the early mornings on the weekends.
Right out of high school I entered the low-voltage electrical trade and was a Journeyman for 9 years.
I would introduce a bill that would repeal the statutes that restrict local government’s ability to remove homeless camps from our streets.
