David Denenberg (Democratic Party) ran for election to the U.S. House to represent New York's 4th Congressional District. He did not appear on the ballot for the Democratic primary on June 25, 2024.

Biography

Denenberg graduated with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering in 1984 and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 1988. He has worked as an engineer and lawyer.[1]

Elections for the New York State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on September 9, 2014. The general election took place November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was July 10, 2014. David Denenberg was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Michael Venditto was unopposed in the Republican primary. Denenberg ran on the Working Families Party ticket and Venditto ran on the Conservative Party, Independence Party of New York State and Tax Revolt Party tickets. Denenberg suspended his campaign on September 23, 2014, but remained on the ballot. Venditto defeated Denenberg in the general election.[2][3][4]

Noteworthy events

Denenberg withdrew from the state senate race on September 23, 2014, after the Daily News revealed that his former law partners accused him of billing more than $3 million for work he did not complete. Denenberg did not respond to the allegations and was not removed from the ballot.[5] On January 21, 2015, pleaded guilty to mail fraud charges and resigned from the Nassau County Legislature.[6]
