Campaign themes
2015
Glass' website highlighted the following campaign themes:[3]
Decision-making
- Excerpt: "As your city council person I can and will ask the hard questions that can influence the city into better decision-making. I will stand up for people's rights and be a champion for those who are disenfranchised and underserved. I will champion the interests of all Ward 5 neighborhoods."
Partnerships
- Excerpt: "There needs to be more clarity and speed to help businesses set up in the city. The city could help in marketing and branding local areas like Rice Street. … Local neighborhoods and businesses need to be notified months in advance of planned activities that shutdown roads or utilities. All business reputations need to be protected by good inspections and particularly health inspections."
Accessible streets
- Excerpt: "Snow removal and street maintenance are essential services. Dan Bostrom said it best when the Mayor and other Council Members have insisted on this streetcar development of 4-5 miles at a cost of $250 million. He said that over 800 miles of street can be milled and paved with better paying jobs, more of them, and still have $48 million left over."
Community policing
- Excerpt: "I appreciate the efforts of both the St Paul Police and Fire Departments and want to work with them to serve St. Paul more effectively.I envision a St. Paul where the employees and contracts of St. Paul reflect the Diversity of the City, where we have fair living wages, where Unions are welcomed. At Como and Phalen golf courses the City's own "Compete St. Paul" ordinance was ignored by the City."
Diversity
- Excerpt: "Our beautiful city is a magnificent quilt of diverse and wonderful ethnic groups. 'When we all do better. We do better,' is what my dad used to tell his kids at the dinner table. Promoting more cultural diversity through events and celebrations supported by the city would enrich the culture of our city and promote more local jobs."
