Dax Choksi was a candidate for an at-large seat on the Fremont Unified School District school board in California. Choksi was defeated in the at-large general election on November 8, 2016.[1]

Choksi previously ran for a seat on the board. He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014.

Three of the five seats on the Fremont Unified School District Board of Education were up for at-large general election on November 8, 2016. Incumbents Michele Berke, Desrie Campbell, and Ann Crosbie all filed for re-election. They defeated candidates Dax Choksi and Hiu Ng to win additional terms on the board.[2][3]

Choksi began the race with an existing account balance of $5,026.18 from Choksi's previous campaign. He reported $1,001.00 in contributions and $6,793.69 in expenditures to Alameda County Registrar of Voters, which left Choksi's campaign with $766.51 in debt in the election.[4]

Choksi was endorsed by the community organization Evolve.[5]

Two at-large seats on the Fremont Unified School District Board of Education were up for general election on November 4, 2014. Only one incumbent, Larry Sweeney, filed to run for re-election. He ran against challengers Hiu Ng, Moina Shaiq, Yang Shao and Dax Choksi. Sweeney won his bid for re-election. Shao also won a seat on the board.
