Listening to people, developing solutions and implementing a plan to solve the problem, that's what I have built my life on and what I intend to do as your King County Councilmember. Our District has been underrepresented and therefore underserved, for far too long. The people in the King County Council 9thDistrict deserve far better representation - by someone who is fully engaged, works full time and lives here full time. I will bring my 37 years of combined experience in the corporate, small business and financial worlds to help solve the serious issues facing our county. Let’s work together to ensure we get the representation we deserve, so that we can make our community an even better place to live, for generations to come. Time for new vision and energy - less talk, more action! GETTING OUR REGION MOVING! LITERALLY! For those in the district that pay into Sound Transit, I will work to get you a better return on YOUR investment. I will work with State, County and Local transportation departments and elected officials to find creative solutions to these pressing regional issues – the buck stops here! We will work to remove choke points, synchronize traffic signals, install left hand turn lanes, fix roads and bridges, add bus routes and explore water taxies on Lake Washington. Forward thinking, thoughtful representation, staying current on local issues and good old fashioned hard work - That is what I will deliver to our District. It’s my promise to you! ENSURING FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY As a Financial Adviser, I will find creative and responsible solutions to increase revenue and decrease expenses without raising taxes on working families and the middle class. We pay Wall Street a lot of money to finance our debt. Let’s invest in Washington not Wall Street. I believe that those benefitting from our region’s rapid growth should help pay for the additional services needed to support our ever-growing population – to help lessen the burden for those that already live here. We also need tax reform to better allocate the taxes we already pay and to give a break to seniors that are having a hard time making ends meet. If you live here today, you should be able to live here tomorrow! BUILDING HEALTHY COMMUNITIES I will work with my colleagues and health care professionals to identify and combat the root causes of addiction, invest in mental health care services, and focus on wellness and preventative medicine. Let’s find ways to provide incentives to encourage those in our communities to stay healthy. Let’s help the homeless. There are many reasons for homelessness, one of them being rising rental rates. This is causing some veterans to lose their homes. Many of these people living on the streets and in their cars need a hand out, others need a hand up. Let’s get resourceful and find effective ways to help those in need. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and should be given an opportunity to succeed.[3][4] |
