Dorothy J. Shockley was a 2014 Democratic candidate for District C of the Alaska State Senate. She ran unsuccessfully for District 38 of the Alaska House of Representatives in 2012 as an Independent.

Elections for the Alaska State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on August 19, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 2, 2014. Dorothy J. Shockley was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while incumbent Click Bishop was unopposed in the Republican primary. Bishop defeated Shockley in the general election. Mike Miller (R) withdrew before the primary.[1][2][3][4][5]

Shockley ran in the 2012 election for Alaska House of Representatives District 38. She ran as a non-affiliated candidate and was challenged by incumbents David Guttenberg (D) and Alan S. Dick (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[6][7] Shockley was defeated in the general election.[8]
